I guess its been about week ago now when the temperatures dramatically
dropped and the termination dust landed in our valley!
Luckily a few important photo shoots happened in just the nick of time!
My Halloween Banner or "Halloween on A Rope" as a friend called it :) finally had a chance to shine before the lens. I have twice sold out of these kits now. They will be back again though, and in time for fall next year!!
Our sewing group has plans to publish the pattern for this gem of a quilt, when the timing is right. The original blocks were designed by our dear friend who is valiantly fighting a brain tumor. Each of us completed our quilts a little differently and they are treasured! We really needed to capture these beauties in the autumn light and we were blessed with few golden rays on the eve before the snow and bitter temps came.
I have a crush on this little beauty.

It has since found its way to a lucky bride and groom in sunny California.
I'm the President of our women's organization at our church and we had a beautiful visiting teaching conference last week. We fed our tummies and spirits. I was over the moon with the veggie tray. It was inspired from Pinterest - from a pin named, "Not Your Grandma's Relish Tray".
Last week we had a full house in the studio and the color and creative juices were flowing!
Kathryn was putting the finishing touches on here beautiful quilt.
The little critters on this quilt are the cutest things ever.
She told me it would be on the way to quilters in just days.
I love finished projects! The best feeling ever.

She stopped in today to get things for her next project.

One of my very favorite things about having ladies in the studio is to hear their stories!
Kathryn had a gem and shared with us the time her daughter brought back this darling stuffed penguin to her from a trip to Alaska. She said it took her right back to her tiny 5 year old self and the sweet little poem her mom use to share with her! AND, she still remembers it! You should have her recite it with every ounce of childhood spunk! She shared it with me in an email. Enjoy it!
There Once Was a Puffin
Oh, there once was a Puffin
Just the shape of a muffin,
And he lived on an island
In the bright blue sea!
He ate little fishes,
That were most delicious,
And he had them for supper
And he had them for tea.
But this poor little Puffin,
He couldn’t play nothin’,
For he hadn’t anybody
To play with at all.
So he sat on his island,
And he cried for awhile, and
He felt very lonely,
And he felt very small.
Then along came the fishes,
And they said, “If you wishes,
You can have us for playmates,
Instead of for tea!”
So they now play together,

And the Puffin eats pancakes,

Having lived in Alaska I went crazy over this puffin!
We are trying to hunt down the artist who made it.
I found the perfect frame for my darling deer project!
I'll soon have some kits and the pattern available for this.
It is simply charming and I never get tired of looking at it!
